If you know us then you might know that we LOVE ourselves a children’s museum. Typically every time we go to a new city I google the nearest children’s museum, and I highly recommend it! We’ve gone to soooo many amazing museums, all of them so unique in their own way. However I wanted to share my top 3 near our home that we love to frequent.
Bay Area Discovery Museum – Sausalito, CA
I really felt this was the BEST children’s museum I’ve ever been to for toddlers. They had sooooo many rooms and interactive play spaces for toddlers and majority of the museum is outdoors which was great for my super active kid. Bonus! The views of the Golden Gate Bridge are breathtaking! Imagine playing in the sandbox at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. Even with the eerie fog looming nearby it looks amazing.
Children’s Discovery Museum – San Jose, CA
This is our local favorite. Its great for ALL AGES! There’s a great outdoor play area with a structure, bubbles, water paint, and more. The inside has replicas of all three emergency vehicles, kitchen and restaurant area, water table, giant foam area, and much more. If you have little ones under 4 go straight upstairs to the toddler play area which is a little mini museum just for young ones. Bonus! There’s a crawl only room within the toddler room for those under 1 babies!
A couple times a year they change out the them of one of the rooms. We’ve seen healthy kitchen choices, Thomas the Train town, and currently they have a recreation of Saigon, Vietnam.
Junior Museum & Zoo – Palo Alto, CA
This is a perfect mini museum if you need somewhere to run some energy out for your little one. This museum is definitely geared more towards toddlers and even has a cute small zoo outside.
