Toddler Friendly Travel Destinations – USA

Toddler Friendly Destinations in the US

I’ve dreamed of gifting my son the beauty of travel and seeing the world since before I was pregnant. I love taking him on all of my adventures but I’ve definitely found that some destinations are better than others when traveling with little ones…I think I’ll keep adding to this blog post over time as I find other cities but these are my favorite so far!

Virginia Beach, VA

One of our first real family vacations we took with our baby was to Virginia Beach. Traveling from California, it was a long flight and I had a lot to prepare for.

Some of the main reasons we loved Virginia Beach and can’t wait to go back with our water baby is because the beaches are large and spacious, there’s plenty of eateries – great for parents + games for adults and kids, and the boardwalk is great for concerts and beach events!

The City of Virginia Beach has a lot to offer outside of the main boardwalk and beach areas well. We went to visit some family and checked out the local petting zoo, breweries, and much more. The people are super friendly and very welcoming to children and families in general.

Ashbury Park, NJ

During our east coast roadtrip we had a segment where we didn’t have any hotels booked and no real destination…we just knew that we were driving north. We came upon the cutest little beach town called Ashbury Park. If you watched the show Jersey Shore back in the day then you may be familiar with some of the cities nearby which were on the show. Ashbury Park is about an hour north of where the show as filmed.

There honestly is not too much to the town outside of the small downtown with eateries and small boutiques. We loved it because it had a cute historic charm and was located on the beach which my son LOVED!

Lake Tahoe, CA or NV

Lake Tahoe is always a good idea! Whether you have kids or you don’t. Whether you love summer and hate winter or the other way around…we just went with our little one to Lake Tahoe so I’ll just link it instead of repeating 😉
