Why You Should Explore Lake Tahoe with Your Toddler…

Lake Tahoe Toddler Travels

We recently just came back from a 5 day trip to S. Lake Tahoe with our 15 month old and I can’t recommend it enough! I’m sharing some of my tips below that helped make the trip a little easier and fun for my little one!

Skip the Snow Park and Go to Kahle Park

If you have a young toddler, I’m thinking under 3, I would skip the snow park and grab your sled and/or intertube and head to Kahle Park. It’s a city park that has a small yet perfect hill to practice while saving some $$! Trust me, all the locals do it!

Check Out the Children’s Museum in Carson City

Depending on how long your trip is, you may need a break from the snow and Tahoe, especially your little one! If that’s the case then I definitely recommend checking out Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. Carson City is only 35 minutes from S. Lake Tahoe and an easy ride along Highway 50. A bonus is that adults are only $3 and kids under 2 are free. So it was only $6 for our little family of three!

Stop At Lions Park

On your way to Tahoe stop at Lions Park in Placerville. It’s a great way to run out your little ones energy before hitting the 50. We didn’t discover this park until our way back home but we’ll be adding it as a stop each way next time 😉
