3 Easy Ways to Monetize Your Website

Monetize Your Website

Who doesn’t enjoy making money in their sleep? I know I sure do. Well let me share with you 3 easy ways to monetize your website! Something my financial advisor told me once was if you’re going to work (or not) make sure your money is working too! That has always stuck with me. I’m constantly trying to figure out how my money, whether it be in stock markets or savings account, make more money!

Well if you spend an hour on Instagram or any other social platform and you’re not monetizing on it, then you’re missing out on $$$. I don’t want to gatekeep so I’m sharing my tips on how to monetize your website.

Paid Posts (And No Not The Ones You Write Yourself)

If you knew me when during my humble days as bloggingandthings (go check out the website out with some throwback content) then you may have seen the glow up but maaaaan the growth and knowledge I’ve gained (and so much more to go). I’m proud to say that after a few years (more than it should have taken, let’s be honest) that website completely runs itself now and pays for a lot of growth for this site as well.

All, and I mean all of the posts on that website are now sponsored/paid posts. Part of the reason I committed to making the switch to TheTrendyBlock was so I could fully build my brand and craft here without it affecting my business there. All this to say that the freedom and luxury that comes with that is so relieving. I don’t have to stress about changing algorithms on Instagram or other platforms and its super fast! I probably publish 3-5 articles a week that take about 30 minutes of my time in total and make about $100. I’ll be the first to admit that $100 isn’t much at all. BUT $400 at the end of the month for hitting copy, paste, and publish (literally the only three buttons I push) for a couple hours while binge watching a show…that’s easy money. That’s also only ONE publisher 😉

ADS

Such a YAY or NAY topic…but it does pay. I get it if you don’t like ads on your page…I don’t either. BUT if you need to pay bills and you have a following/audience then its something to consider. You can always choose to remove ads at a later point.

Just keep in mind that ads can drive some of your followers away. However, a little bit of ads isn’t harmful. I think its overwhelming when you’re reading through a post and an ad follows you the entire time.

Also, I think it depends what your website is about. Are you selling something? Such as a product? Then I expect ads.

Paid Posts (Yes, The Ones Your Write Yourself)

Not my favorite since option 1 is actually more my bread and butter BUT I always want to keep opportunities coming as well as build my craft (creative writing). I would say there are more opportunities to get paid to write posts which is also another reason why I think its extremely popular.

If you have a journalism or creative writing background and can write persuasive articles then I would really explore this avenue. I don’t…at all. Which is why option 1 is better for me.
