Baby’s First Disneyland Trip….is it worth it?

Disney Vacation

before you scroll to the bottom wondering if the answer is yes or no…its YES! Don’t let the haters stop you and your family from enjoying a trip to Disney! However before you just YOLO and go…check out the post below on some tips and hints!

Disneyland is EXPENSIVE! I don’t care how you try to flip it, its expensive. But you can’t find that Disney magic anywhere else!

Set Your Expectations Early and Set Them LOW

If this is your first Disney trip with kids, especially your own, don’t expect the Disney trips of your past. The days of riding Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Space Mountain before 11am whilst running full speed through the park are over. This Disney trip is going to go a little slower and you can actually explore and ride some of the rides you never heard of or had the time to ride.

Half days could be a real thing…those hidden mickey ears you never have time to find in the park…well now you do! And yes that’s a thing…check it out HERE.

Find Open Areas

If you have an active toddler I definitely recommend spending some time before standing in line letting your little one get their wiggles out. It was a bummer because both Toon Town and Tarzan’s Treehouse were closed during our Disney trip. However, I really recommend finding an area to let your little one get their wiggles out. You would be surprised how hard it can be to find these pocket spots in the park because the crowds, strollers, and changing landscapes limits walking/running areas.

We did find both Critter Country and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge area were less crowded and had larger walkways.

Don’t Spend All Your Time in Fantasyland

A lot of people kind of just go straight to Fantasyland because that’s where majority of the “baby rides” are located. Although this is somewhat true, its also the reason that it is PACKED and so crowded. Not to mention that majority of the people have strollers so its just a mess. I recommend getting there early and getting there first. Ride all the rides you can get on first like Peter Pan, Pinnochio, Snow White, Alice, Mr. Toad, and Small World, etc. (you won’t be able to hit all of them but maybe choose 2-3 that you really want to ride).

There are other rides that are appropriate for infants and toddlers like Astroblasters (Tomorrowland), Winnie The Pooh (Critter Country), and Jungle Cruise (Adventureland) that aren’t located in Fantasyland. There are other notable rides in Fantasyland like Casey Jr. Train Ride that likely won’t have a very long line. I’ve been to Disneyland over a dozen times and rode a couple of rides for the first time on this latest trip.
